Uniform and Equipment 

School Uniform is compulsory at Jebel Ali Primary. We feel that the uniform enhances the children’s feeling of belonging to and identifying with the school.

All items may be purchased from The Uniform Shop, Spinneys Centre, Umm Suqueim or from Stitches on Jumeirah Beach Road. Some items are available from MacGrudy’s in Jumeirah.

Jewellery

• Girls are permitted to wear one watch and one pair of stud ear-rings or small sleepers (Reception to Year 6)
• Boys are permitted to wear one watch only

Watches should not be excessively expensive and should be left with the class teacher for PE.  The PE department cannot be held responsible for losses.

• If jewellery other than stipulated is worn, then a child will be reminded of the school rules
• If the child continues to wear the article of jewellery, it will be confiscated and handed to the parent of the child
• Boys are not permitted to wear ear-rings
• Facial piercing is not permitted

Hair
Hair styles and hair accessories should be in line with what is deemed acceptable for school.  If you have any doubt to the suitability of a planned hair style please consult your child’s teacher.

• All children are expected to keep their hair clean and tidy
• Girls with shoulder length or longer hair should keep it tied back using school alice band or school scrunchie
• Boys’ hair should be short and tidy
• Extreme haircuts are not permitted eg shaving of all or part of the head.  If children have such a cut, they will be referred to their Year Group Leader and parents will be called in for an interview
• Children are not allowed to dye their hair and if they do so, will be asked to rectify it immediately.
• The Headteacher may suspend a child for an extreme haircut or colouring of hair.  As a guide, boys’ hair should be no shorter than a number 2 cut  

P.E. Kit

• Polo sports shirt with house colour stripe on the collar (You will be advised of your child’s house prior to admission)
• White P.E shorts, white socks
• Trainers with non-marking soles and laces
• Boys’ swimming trunks in navy with gold flash (KS2 only)
• Girls’ Swimsuit in navy with gold flash (KS2 only)
• Swimming cap in house colours
• P.E/swim bag (light blue)

Girls

• Blue gingham dress
• Blue cardigan with logo or v neck pullover with logo or blue sweatshirt with logo
• White or navy socks
• Black leather school shoes (full shoes only with heels below 2 centimetres in height)
• Hat with school logo
• Book bag with school logo KS1
• Backpack with school logo Year 2 and KS2

Boys

• Blue gingham shirt
• Navy shorts
• White or navy socks
• Black leather school shoes (full shoes only)
• Blue sweatshirt with logo or v neck pullover with logo
• Cap with school logo (with neck flap for KS1)
• Book bag with school logo KS1
• Backpack with school logo Year 2 and KS2
