School Times
The School year is divided into three terms, as in the United
Kingdom, but because of the climate the summer closure is
longer. The extended holidays are compensated for by the longer
hours during term so as to ensure a school year of similar
length to the U.K. The School week is from Sunday to Thursday
inclusive.

There are two short breaks during the school day for the
children to eat, drink and have a playtime. Children bring
a packed lunchbox to school and they eat their snacks under
supervision. Parents are asked to ensure that lunch boxes
are named, contain a chiller to keep the food fresh, and that,
for safety purposes, the children do not bring glass containers.
Parents are reminded of their responsibility to ensure their
children are in school for the appropriate starting time.
However, we do ask that children do not arrive at school earlier
than 10 minutes before the start time as supervision cannot
be guaranteed.
The Key Stage 1 children are not allowed to leave the School at
home time, unless accompanied by a responsible person. Children
from these classes must be collected from their classrooms. It is the parents' responsibility
to arrange for their child/children to be collected and safely
accompanied home. However, we recognise that on occasions
parents or nominated persons may be held up for a few moments.
All children, irrespective of age, are told to report to their
class teacher, or the Office, should their arrangements for
collection not be as they expected, and we will ensure that
they are looked after until a parent or responsible person
arrives at the school.
