Description

Jebel Ali Primary School is a highly successful DFEE recognised British Curriculum School which will have more than 560 pupils for the new academic year.

The Board of Governors is seeking to appoint dynamic, well qualified, experienced teachers who meet our selection criteria.

Key Stage 1 and 2 Teachers with at least three years' experience.

Job Description: Supply Teachers

Responsible to: Head Teacher, Deputy Head Teacher, Key Stage Co-ordinators and Year leaders

Main Duties and responsibilities in relation to a Key Stage One and Key Stage Two Teacher:

  1. To be responsible for the day to day smooth running of the classroom.
  2. As a member of a year group, to effectively plan and deliver the National Curriculum for the class, ensuring breadth, balance and progression as appropriate for the age range and ability.
  3. To ensure teaching is of the highest quality in all areas and that children are appropriately challenged in all lessons and activities.
  4. To follow schemes of work and policies for the class based on the needs of children and in line with the National curriculum and QCA Schemes of Work as well as the NLS and NNS.
  5. To carry out regular assessments of children in line with school policy and plan, as appropriate, to ensure all pupils make progress in line with their annual targets.
  6. To organise and manage the classroom in order to offer a stimulating and enriched learning environment.
  7. To utilise appropriate resources so that lessons can be carefully differentiated and allow full access for all children.
  8. To have a full-time teaching commitment and strive for excellence in all areas of the curriculum.
  9. To keep up-to-date with developments in education through C.P.D.
  10. To lead after-school activities every week, for at least 2 terms.
  11. To encourage parental support in all aspects of school life.
  12. To be available to speak to parents as necessary.
  13. To seek to actively support and promote the School through positive public relations.

It may be necessary for duties and responsibilities to vary in accordance with the changing needs of the school, as determined by the Head Teacher

Good honours degree
Experience of teaching a full range of ability and age
Minimum of three years teaching experience
Evidence of recent appropriate CPD and an up to date knowledge of initiatives
